GAYLE CAMERON,
director of recent Taree Arts Council blockbuster shows such as
"Mary Poppins", "Cabaret", and "Miss Saigon", is currently hard at work preparing for her November 2018 production of

"Les Mis" is a sung-through musical based on the novel"Les Misérables" written by
French poet and novelist Victor Hugo.
Set in early 19th-Century France, it is the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his quest for redemption after serving nineteen years in jail for stealing a loaf of bread for his sister's starving child. Pursued by the relentless Javert, who is determined that Valjean be returned to prison for an additional theft, his path weaves through those of student revolutionaries who will end their lives on a street barricade.

TACT originally presented the show in 1995, under the direction of Mike Collins (who sadly passed away in 2014). This was, at the time, the biggest show we had presented as far as cast and production values went, and it was a huge undertaking. The show has evolved technically since then and Gayle will be giving us the
(no less grand and complex) updated version.

The new production season will run from
Friday 2nd to Sunday 18th in November.

Booking information is to be determined.

Should you wish to be involved in the show in any form (backstage, costuming, etcetera), please contact us.
